The 27-meter height wooden structure overlooks the small Napl\u00e1s Lake (or Sunshine Lake, in English) in the 16<sup>th<\/sup> district. From the top of the tower one has a beautiful view of the surroundings: looking to the east, one can distinguish the hills near the town of G\u00f6d\u00f6ll\u0151, famous for the summer residence of \u201cSisi&#8221;, the wife of the Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone size-full wp-image-3526\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"666\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dashboard.piranesi.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/13_1_Lookout-tower_Tam\u00e1s-Bujnovszky-for-Robert-Gutowski-Architects_01.jpg\" alt=\"Photo: Tam\u00e1s Bujnovszky\" class=\"wp-image-3526\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dashboard.piranesi.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/13_1_Lookout-tower_Tam\u00e1s-Bujnovszky-for-Robert-Gutowski-Architects_01.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.dashboard.piranesi.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/13_1_Lookout-tower_Tam\u00e1s-Bujnovszky-for-Robert-Gutowski-Architects_01-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption>Photo: Tam\u00e1s Bujnovszky<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tower was implemented as one of the elements of the so-called Urban Forest Development Program of the Pilis Park Forestry Company (Pilisi Parkerd\u0151 Zrt). With such developments, the former rather industrial area has been spectacularly transformed into a popular leisure centre. The lake is the largest body of standing water in Budapest, which was created in 1978 by damming the Szilas stream to deal with the water fluctuations between different seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The designer of the tower, Robert Gutowski, graduated from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and worked several years in the office of architect Dezs\u0151 Ekler. Ekler designed, among others, a remarkable school building in P\u00e9cel, just a few kilometres meters away from the tower.
